Appraisal Section
The Appraisal Section is part of the Real Property Division and is responsible for determining fair tax values for nearly 80,000 parcels in Alamance County. These values help ensure that property taxes are shared fairly across our community.
Our team is made up of:
- Appraisal Supervisor
- Six Appraisers
- Appraisal Clerk
Appraisers work throughout the county to measure, list, and assess real property. They are also here to answer your questions, explain how property values are determined, and provide helpful information about the appraisal process.
If a property owner disagrees with an assessed value, our staff carefully review each appeal and, when needed, represent the County before the Board of Equalization & Review and the State Property Tax Commission.
Our goal is to make sure every property owner is treated fairly and has the information they need.
